Computer Requirements
These are the minimum computer requirements you will need to complete Key to Knowledge online courses. This page will test your computer for the necessary programs. Please check below as to whether you have or do not have the necessary programs. If you need to download a program, links are provided to websites that have the installation files.
Hardware
- PC computer using Windows 98 or higher or Macintosh/Apple computer using OS 8.0 or higher.
- 64 MB (128 MB + recommended) of RAM, with 5MB (10 MB + recommended) of hard drive space available, and operating with CPU processor speed of 266 MHz (500 MHz + recommended) for PC, or running a PowerMacintosh or higher.
- Connection to the Internet using a 56 Kbps modem or DSL / cable connection.
- Sound Card and Speakers
Software
- Microsoft Word (or MS Word Reader)
- PowerPoint (or MS PowerPoint Reader)
Browser Settings
- An Internet browser such as Microsoft Internet Explorer 6.0 or higher (PC only), Netscape Navigator 7.1 or higher, or Firefox 1.0 or higher (all Platforms), with the following browser settings: Javascript enabled, Popup Blockers disabled, and Cookies Enabled.

- Adobe Acrobat Reader – Acrobat Reader allows you to view and print PDF files on all major computer platforms.

- Sun Systems Java – Java provides the ability for interaction with web pages through applets.

- Windows Media Player

- Adobe Acrobat Reader – Acrobat Reader allows you to view and print PDF files on all major computer platforms.
